Setting Up For Sending Mail in TBS2

If you are wanting to send mail directly out of TBS via a gmail account, you need to specify your personal details to your TBS user account.

To start sending emails out of TBS firstly go to your user list :

Now edit your user entry :

In the lower section of that screen, enter as follows (obviously using your own information !) :

Ensure specifically that you have told it to : a) Use Personal SMTP Settings, then b) that the correct gmail server details are in the SMTP Server field (these are currently smtp.gmail.com) then c) that the SMTP Requires Authorisation box is ticked, then d) that the Secure SMTP box is ticked, then e) ensure your correct gmail account information is in the SMTP Account Username field (note : this may not always be your actual email address !), then f) add your gmail account password in to the SMTP Password field, and finally g) if you want any internal TBS mails to get automatically sent out to your external email account (typically you would want this !) that the 'Forward mail to the external email' box is ticked

Save and then log out of TBS and log in again (or quit and restart whichever is easier). This will 'set' your email details correctly.......

Test your mailing capabilities by going to the Communications --> Mail option and create a 'New' entry, and in the lower (email) section, try entering an associates email address in the 'Email Address To' field, add a title, and some message if you wish, and try to then send this mail (by using the 'Send Mail' button

Google details

It is quite possible that the first mail that you send directly out of TBS using your own account, will fail, causing google to want you to specifically allow such an outrage to occur.

You will more than likely receive an email similar to this :

Really it is just google wanting to make sure you understand that you are allowing another application apart from google itself to send an email out of your account.....don't worry about their draconian death and possible destruction notices - it's ok - honest ! Follow the link and allow it to happen by following their link......

You should end up then receiving a confirming email that you are allowing this - after which all should be fine going forwards.

After you receive the all clear, you should then be able to send emails from TBS quite happily - and these emails should end up in your gmail sent mail folder, but try again just to be sure before you send an email in earnest !
