Frequently Asked Question
WMS Changing Cases Whilst Allocating
If you keep your flight cases barcoded and stored within TBS, you have the option to scan the cases in order to set up your case list whilst allocating stock when using the WMS interface to allocate your items
Your first step - of course - is to choose your job, and go to the 'Allocate' function for your job :
If you now scan your first flight case, let's say its barcode is 1982:
Providing this stock item is tagged as a case, this should give you :
NOTE : you can set by way of a preference whether you want a case to be added as an item on the job, or to simply remain just as a case on the job. If the cases do not remain out with the equipment during the rental, then it is likely to be easier not to add the cases as items, however if the cases remain with the equipment until return, then adding the case as an item can help.
Note : this is now showing you which case (number and type) you are currently set to :
Any scans for standard stock items will now get added to this case :
By scanning another case, this will automatically set you into the next sequential case 'number' with your scanned case set to that number :
Carry on in this manner scanning cases and then their contents.....
If you need to change to a previously created case number, there are 2 methods of doing this, depending upon whichever is easier for you - firstly, you can click on the button labelled 'New Case' :
This opens a screen with specific information just for known cases on the job :
Here you can manually add a new case entry (it does not have to be a barcoded asset, you can simply 'write in' the details if you wish), or if you want to return to an existing case, you can choose from the dropdown list of existing case entries :
Or the second method of changing case is quite simply just to scan the barcode of the case you want to go back to - scanning an existing case does nothing more than to simply change the current 'case':
In similar vein, re-scanning an already added serialised item will not cause any issues apart from updating that item to being shown in the currently set case as opposed to whatever case (if any) it was in before - so to change the case of a given item, you would scan the case then scan the item, as simple as that.
