Sync'ing clients and contacts with Address Book (now Contacts) in OSX from TBS2

It is now a simple thing to sync your TBS information for both Clients and for Contacts to your mac Contacts/Address Book.

** If you are using OSX Mavericks or later, due to the security changes in OSX, you will need to run a special version of TBS (available upon request from TBS support), which starts TBS as a child of the Terminal application, which then gives it the security clearance to use AppleScript internally **

Note : Because of the considerable additional information required within TBS, it is not possible to import new Contacts/Address Book contacts directly in to TBS, however once an entry exists in both places, if you change - for example - an email address in Contacts/Address Book, you can sync this information back to TBS where the option exists to update an existing entry.....

To sync client information, in the Name/Addresses screen, select the entries you wish to sync, and highlight any you wish to sync, and then simply use the Special menu option 'Sync Selected Clients To Mac Contacts...'

Firstly, you can set your own names for Contacts/Address Book, for how to match certain fields between TBS and Contacts/Address Book :

You are then given an options screen :

The options are self explanatory - it would be self defeating to have 'TBS Wins If Different' together with 'Update TBS If Different' !

Clicking on Ok will then update your local Contacts/Address Book :

Note : clients and contacts appear slightly different in Contacts/Address Book ! Some of the differences as entered are :a client contains address info and the client phone numbers as well as any generic email address

Where a contact is held simply with the contact name, their parent company, and job title, as well as their direct phone and email info :

Note : any entries saved in Contacts with no email address will not be displayed in the TBS Mail edit screen when viewing a list of email address recipients to select from.

To sync TBS contacts, follow the same path as above but from the Contacts main list in TBS2
