Setting An Overall Value For A Booking In TBS2

If you are wanting to set an overall price for any specific booking within TBS, there are several different places where you can do this.

Firstly, to set an overall price for an entire booking, there is an option in the Special Menu of the Job Details tab of a booking called : Amend Overall Price :

This opens a window with the current net and gross values of the complete booking (so without tax and with tax) :

Change whichever one you want to change depending upon whether you are looking at the without tax value or with tax - it will work with either !

Upon clicking OK, TBS will vary the discount proportionately amongst all rental lines of the job which are for descriptions not set to non-discountable - and if it is not possible to get to the value you chose, it will tell you.

TBS will never change any sales item discounts using this method, sales items must have their discounts changed manually (or with Amend Details)

Setting An Overall Value For An Individual Folder In TBS2

The second place for setting an overall price is by changing the value of an individual folder - which you can do by going to the Folder list tab :

Select and edit any specific folder :

Here, you can change the Net Value total figure, and upon saving, TBS applies the same calculations as for the overall price (as above) but in this case only for the items of this one folder

Note : if you have a set of several items within a larger set in a folder and wish to set a price for that set specifically, then use the Amend Details routine to move them to an empty folder and then use the Folder edit to set the value and amend the discounts appropriately. Then use Amend Details to set them back to their original folder

Setting An Overall Value For An Individual Item In TBS2

Just for completeness sake, it is worth pointing out that you can also manipulate individual items within a job in various ways :

When editing the Bookings Items, you can change the discount percentage value, and this will amend the Net Value. Also you can change the Net Value of an individual line, and this in turn will change the discount value of the item. (And of course you can also change the base Rate of the item if that does not violate the ethics of your company pricing policy !)
