Viewing Crew Diaries

To view a Crew diary in TBS2, you use the same Diary of an Item as with normal stock equipment :

Clicking on the Planboard button invokes a special version of the item planboard :

When the item planboard recognises a crew code as its display, it does 2 special additional things for you - firstly it lists all the possible personnel who have been set as suppliers that you use for this crew position. Secondly, it then also goes through each of those additional personnel and fills in any other bookings for which you may already have them booked - whcih may not necessarily be as the same activity as the displayed stock description entry. In this example, holding the cursor on the first activity shows the full entry :

Now you can see that - although we are only looking at a list of 'ENGINEER' bookings, Andy is also already booked out as a RIGGER on a different job. In order to effectively plan timings for crew, it is necessary to see what else they may be doing for you ! So that is one of the important additional things that the planboard gives you for crew views.

Additionally you can display ALL crew bookings, as you can with any other stock type, by entering just the stock type into the search screen :

Now the planboard button will display this list with ALL appropriate crew personnel from all the possible crew codes :

Note : any unfulfilled crew bookings are - as with stock planboard views - shown at the top of the screen, so in this example the requirement for a RIGGER is not yet fulfilled....

Crew entries within a booking have one additional secret bonus - once a person has been assigned to a crew booking, you can send them a Calendar invite, so if they use Calendaring (either in Outlook, or on their mac or iPhone/Smart Phone !) they can receive the information about their job from here too !

This invokes a standard calendar message containing details of the booking to be emailed to the supplier of the selected line(s) - of course provided they have a valid email address set !
